Lovely as a Tree

Lovely as a tree. That's this week's twist over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday group. Do drop by and see all the wonderful pieces and become a member yourself!

This cutie came from our sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps, and is Ava Swing.  I used a tree embossing folder to create the background which I colored and layered on the stripped paper and then on the pink cardstock. I love the little bow (I just learned how to make them.) and the tiny heart brads to hold up the swing ropes. Then I fussy cut Ave and put her on foam tape to give dimension.  I added two little red dots to bring out the color of the bow in her hair.

Stella Birthday from Bugaboo

Suprise!!!! This week, I used my Spectrum Noirs instead of my Copics to color this fun image from our sponsor this month, Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I am just one of those people who like (read NEED) to do something different all the time. I think that's why I have gotten into art journaling too as I can play with so many different techniques and be messy. I love to get messy, and cards just don't look quite right when they're messy. (Want to see some messes? Check out my art journaling blog.)

The "twist" over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday, was to add brads or eyelets. I do love to see those and I have them, but for some reason, I've never added eyelets. I love challenges for pushing us to remember to use our supplies. (Of which I have many. Maybe too many? How about you?)

The tree is stamped from DRS Designs and I cut the paper with Lawn Fawn stitched borders. I added some sparkly ribbon and a couple of buttons that I snipped the backs off to glue down.

A Gatefold Card With Rainboot Bugs from Bugaboo

Gate fold cards are a lot of fun to do and not difficult at all. I have found great tutorials for all kinds of folded cards on the Internet, and each one has a slightly different way of presenting it. I like the way Splitcoast Stampers tutorials work a lot.

The anything goes twist this week, over at The Outlawz, was to use this type of card. The sponsor for this month is Bugaboo stamps and I just love this cutie from them, Rainboot Bugs.

Bugaboo Winter Birds on a Line

What a great way to start off the new year with a cute little winter owl scene. I'm sure glad I don't live where it snows, but I did for many years and can appreciate the beauty a snowy day.

This image, Winter Birds on a Line,  is from Bugaboo Digi Stamps, sponsor for this month at Twisted Thursday over at The Outlawz. Folded for mailing, this step card covers a lot of the image, but when properly set up, the snowy embossed hill is placed just right. I made some of my own "snow" with sand, glitter, and white glue.
