Cross-Stitch Wishes on a Vertical Step Card

The Three Amigos has a blog hop and a challenge. I really had to hunt high and low to find comparable papers, but these are fairly close to two of those shown. Mine are from Echo Park Simple Life paper pad. I used the set Cross-Stitch Wishes from Close to my Heart and created a Vertical Step Card.
The XO is popped up and I found a tiny pair of scissors that I sprayed using my Copic airbrush. A few Nuvo Drops finished up the card.

Scalloped Border

Our sponsor for August over at Twisted Thursday, is Your Next Stamp. This week's optional twist is Scalloped Border.
This image and sentiment comes from a set called Zero Calories.
The background paper was embossed with a Darice embossing folder on orange. The scalloped piece was blended with Oxide Distress Inks then a wet honeycomb stencil was placed over the top to make the design. The sentiment comes with the set and was stamped in blue over a small oval and sprayed with a sparkle spritz. A few gems were lined down the side for just a bit more bling.

Supersized Birthday Wishes

Our sponsor for August over at Twisted Thursday, is Your Next Stamp. This week's optional twist is Layers & Dimension.
This image and sentiment comes from a set called Happy Meal. The background was stamped with embossing ink and then Distress Oxide Inks were blended over the top of the soda bottles and layered over brown textured paper, then layered over the card base. The hamburger and fries were colored with Chameleon Color Tones pencils. The box and burger have some Wink of Stella, and both, as well as the sentiment, are popped with a layer of foam for added dimension. The inside says, Birthday Wishes

Swish the Angelfish

This month, our sponsor for the Freebie Progressive Monthly Challenge over at The Outlawz is "me"! Some of you may know that I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher, so I designed an angelfish using some tangles. I also created one without tangles so that participants can skip the tangled parts or add their own. I hope you all enjoy Swish the Angelfish.
This one was colored with Copics and mounted on an Oxide Distress Ink background. Swish is full of tangles in this version.

It important for you to know that these images, while using some of the patterns of Zentangle are in actuality ZIA’s (Zentangle Inspired Art). The Zentangle® method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to use structured patterns to create beautiful images. Find out more about this method from the founders of this meditative approach to art on their website. Zentangle.com

If you are interested in seeing what I do with Zentangle, I invite you to visit my other blog, Tangle Street.

Here is a simplified version of Swish with some organic tangles added as water foliage. (Colored pencils with Gamsol.)
And, finally, I wanted you to see what fun it is to use digital images by resizing and flipping so that Swish can go in both directions in this shaker card. (Watercolored fish with a texture paste through a stencil for the background.)
Thank you so much for visiting. I'm looking forward to seeing how "Swish" becomes part of other members of our group. I would love to read your comments!

Tiger Blooms with Tombow Markers

This month Twisted Thursday is happy to have Erica, Fun Stampers Journey, from papercraftinwitherica. Erica sent us each a lovely image to work with, some embellishments, and some papers. This week, our optional challenge is an Anything Goes. Since we used the same image for the month of challenges, I changed the coloring medium each week. This week, I colored the stamp with Tombow Markers then stamped. Then, the edges were gone over with some Distress Inks. The image is called Tiger Blooms and I used some of the lovely papers that Erica sent. I added a few accent pearls and burlap ribbon that has pearls.

Tiger Blooms in Prismacolors

This month Twisted Thursday is happy to have Erica, Fun Stampers Journey, from papercraftinwitherica. Erica sent us each a lovely image to work with, some embellishments, and some papers. So, here is another card using the image and butterfly. This week, our optional challenge is to put a ribbon on it.  I used Prismacolor pencil this week. The embossing folder was swiped with Distress Inks. And, the ribbon, Diamond Satin, comes from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The image is called Tiger Blooms and the butterflies are Cork Flutter. The cork circles are from my stash.
